Diet Low Carb Green Beans Almondine Recipe

1 pound French-cut green beans, frozen
1/2 cup slivered almonds
4 tablespoons butter

Steam or microwave the beans according to the package directions. While the beans are cooking, saute the almonds in the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently. When the beans are done and the almonds are golden, drain the water from the beans and pour the almonds and butter over them; use a scraper to get all the butter. Toss the mixture, and serve. Each serving has 12 grams of carbohydrates and 4 grams of fiber, for a total of 8 grams of usable carbs and 6 grams of protein.

Green Beans Pecandine. Make exactly as you would the Green Beans Almondine, only substitute 1/2 cup of chopped pecans for the slivered almonds. Each serving has 11 grams of carbohydrates and 4 grams of fiber, for a total of 8 grams of usable carbs and 6 grams of protein.

Cashew Green Beans. Make as you would the Green Beans Almondine, only substitute 1/2 cup of chopped cashews for the almonds.

Each serving has 13 grams of carbohydrates and 4 grams of fiber, for a total of 9 grams of usable carbs and 5 grams of protein. This recipe for Low Carb Green Beans Almondine serves/makes 4
